One day I was surfing the web and came across this amazing video light mapping presentation by The Macula project. It was the celebrations of the Prague Astronomical Clock 600th Anniversary! The 10 minutes video / Light mapping was projected on the outside wall of the Old Town Hall on which the astronomical clock is installed.

The Prague Astronomical Clock or Prague Orloj is a medieval astronomical clock located in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic. The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third oldest astronomical clock in the world and the only one still working.

The new chapter of the Lady Dior Saga finds a new place. After she travels to Paris, London, New York and Shanghai, the new campaign is set up in Moscow.
The ad campaign featuring the stunning French actress Marion Cotillard. Lensed by Craig McDean with styling by Marie-Amélie Sauvé, Marion poses inside a luxury room with a view on the colorful St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow, Russia. The new model of this legendary bag is the one in red tweed, embroidered with Dior's signature Cannage pattern.

The Lady Dior was brought to life in a live performance at the opening of the "Inspiration Dior" exhibition at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow by the Ukranian artist Kseniya Simonova. The performance was based on an original concept by John Cameron Mitchell.

Kseniya Simonova is a 24 years old Ukranian artist. She got her first taste of fame by her performance on 2009 Ukrain's Got Talent show by uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII. She won the competition& Her amazing art performance was watched by over 13 million people.

This exhibition of 150 important paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings created by Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) is drawn from the permanent collection of the Musée National Picasso, Paris, the largest and most significant repository of the artist’s work in the world, and comes to the de Young as part of an international tour. The artwork is touring because the Musée is currently closed and undergoing a multi-year renovation expected to last through 2012.

Elizabeth Taylor - The Last True Hollywood Star Dies at Age 79, R.I.P

Elizabeth Taylor, a name was synonymous with Hollywood glamour, a global super star who dazzled & capture the hearts of moviegoers with her out of this world beauty & elegance has died on today March 23, 2011 due to congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at age 79.

Born Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor in London, England, on February 27, 1932, to American parents, Taylor left England with her family on the eve of World War II and relocated to Los Angeles. Her first big film was "Lassie Come Home," and 1944 hit film "National Velvet." She continued working steadily throughout the late 1940s and '50s, becoming known as one of the world's great beauties thanks to her piercing violet-colored eyes and alluring gaze.

Taylor finally got her award in 1960 for her peerless performance in "Butterfield 8", in which she played Gloria Wandrous, a call girl who gets entangled with a married man.

One of her most famous films was the 1963 epic "Cleopatra", one of the most expensive movies of all time when it was filmed. She met her future husband Richard Burton on the set and the two began a torrid affair that scandalized Hollywood because both she and Burton were married to other people. Burton would later become her fifth (and sixth) husband after the couple divorced in 1974 after 10 years of marriage and then remarried in 1975 only to divorce again the next year.

Here is the video from the film “Cleopatra” when she entered Rome, it is just the most fabulous scene in the whole movie!

She won a second Oscar in 1966 for her role in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf ?" That would mark the last of her major big-screen roles. Although she continued to sporadically make movie and TV appearances in the 1970s and '80s, Taylor would never again reach such a pinnacle of fame.

The winner got a round-trip flight to New York, 2 nights at the James Hotel and a ticket to his Fall/Winter 2011 runway show!!! As soon as I found out about it, I knew I HAD to win!!! After 6 weeks of hard work and countless hours of stressing, I found out that I won! Like beat everybody in the company. Me. From Portland, Oregon... I was elated!

When I landed in New York, I found out Marc had arranged a car service that came and whisked me away to my hotel! It felt like a scene from a movie... I arrived early in the afternoon, so I had plenty of time to shop! I hit up a few of my must-sees in SoHo, like the new Kardashian store, Dash! Amazing! The city was invigorating, but it all felt so right. It was like I was home. I knew right away that I was going to have an amazing trip!

The show was full of beautiful & interestingly constructed coats & dresses done in almost a boho chic style but a more “Controled” kinda way, feels like a super chic cubist art school teacher / governess that that just finished the painting class and had some left over paint on her hair ( just like those bright blue, red, green & purple hair extensions they loosely mixed into each model’s hair), finished off the look with bright color knit stocking & mary jane shoes.

I just LOVE watching the Oscars! It was the most glamorous night in the whole year & all the fashionistas like myself were glued in front of the TV watching all the “Couture Galore” on the red carpet! The 83rd Academy Awards on February 27th, 2011 was amazing! One of the big difference of this year’s Oscars was the younger & hipper vibe, hosts by James Franco & Anne Hathaway, as the Academy Awards are trying to get the younger crowds to watch the show.

She is the host of this year’s Oscars, so obvious she has to make a statement when she walks down the red carpet in this beautiful flame red Valentino couture taffeta gown with floral appliqué train, sparkling Tiffany & Co. diamonds! And what can be a better accessory to go with this fabulous red dress? The designer himself Valentino! We’ve heard the celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe is allegedly being paid six figures to dress Anne Hathaway.

Unlike the stereotypical images of what most people thinks about Italian Fashion; The skin thigh high slit gowns & leopard print bustier Über sexual blonde hair bombshell sex kitten, Miuccia Prada has masterfully surprised us season after season with her unique vision of how the “Italian Women” would dressed in the Prada world; Simple, Chic, Girlish with a little quirky twist. The collection if full of 20’ flapper girls mix with slightly 60’s Courrèges-like silhouette. Patchworks coatdresses from suede, snakeskin to sparkly oversized paillettes (sequins galore is one of the main trend of fall 2011), done in a low dropped-waist, wide belts sits low over big-buttoned details. Each models walked down the runway with a little soft shap bag clutched under their arm, and some wears fur bonnet hats to complete the look.

As the show goes on, beautiful school girlish looks morph into parade of “Prada Chic Quirky Weirdness” that Prada does it best; mixing the python coat with olive green beaver fur collar, school girlish shirt dress/coats with panels of spiky faux fur and almost “Little Mermaid” fish scales texture looking of overlapping paillettes in Ombré Effect of white, yellow and reds.

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 London Fashion Week Show – 60’s Mod Style Girl In British Snow Wonderland

It snows at Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 fashion show! and it was a beautiful collection! The show took place in a massive tent at the Albert Memorial in Kensington Gardens and the collection was inspired by the famous model back in the sixties Jean Shrimpton. Burberry Prorsum's creative director Christopher Bailey designed the whole collection based on the kind of outfits she might have wear & modeled back in the days. Also Christopher was inspired by the works of famed photographer David Bailey , but most interestingly , Christopher was inspired by the British Weather! and can I say, the snowing effect at the show finale is just beautiful!

Cropped shoulder, exploding volume sleeves, deep peplums at the waist, military styling & big toggle buttons done in hues of mustard green, bright red, oranges mix with super luxe looking black & white mink mixing with drop waist bubble skirt dress & fitted pants/skirts... all has matching handbags to go with each outfit! It was a winter coat loving girl's dream shown in Burberry's fall 2011 show, and the handbags are just fabulous!
I really admire Christopher Bailey's vision of taking this 155 years old house of Burberry founded in 1856 to the modern world. Since last fall collection’s innovative live stream broadcasting their runway show directly from London to every Burberry Boutiques all over the world! Mulberry Fall 2011 London Fashion Week Show – Proper English Girl Meets The Fantastic Mr. Fox In an Countryside Secret Garden

The house of Mulberry is known for their fabulous handbags such as their “Bayswater” & “Alexa ” bags, that has fashionistas all over the world fighting & trying to get their hands on one of those must-have handbags of the season. With couple season of ready-to-wear collection under their belt, I love their Fall-Winter 2011 collection just presented on 2-20-2011 at London’s Claridge’s Mayfair Hotel. The collection’s inspiration was the Fantastic Mr. Fox & the show was feminine, focused and very English proper with a little naughty quirky twist kind of look that many Mulberry followers loved!

Proenza Schouler Fall 2011 Collection - A Cool Girl's Road Trip To Santa Fe, New Mexico

The young & talented design duo Jack McCollough & Lazaro Hernandez’s Proenza Schouler has always been associated with being the cool “It Girl” choice when it comes to dressing themselves. Season after season, Proenza Schouler has delivered fabulous collections, from last season’s “Totally Rad Surfer Girl” looks to this seasons native American Indian inspired Fall Winter 2011 collection. But one thing you can also notice from their newest collection is they are no longer just being the “Cool It-Girl” designers, their craftsmanship on how they construct the garments & attention to details has also matured since they’ve presented their first collection since year 2002.

I just love how Jack & Lazaro mix & match bright & bold color prints together in each season, and the prints always tells a story where they’ve been visiting & what inspired them at those location they were at. For Fall 2011, they were inspired by their road trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. The collection as filled with the beautiful prints, motifs & pattern that resemble the beauty of Native American Indian’s blankets.

Carmen Marc Valvo Fall Winter 2011 Collection – Romantic Vintage Glamour Goddess Fantasy

We were so excited to be invited to have the backstage access of one of my favorite designer Carmen Marc Valvo’s Fall-Winter 2011 fashion show at the NASDAQ building in Time Square New York!

Just in case if you are not familiar of Carmen’s fabulous designs, he is famously known for his beautiful & glamorous eveningwear whom has dressed many Hollywood celebrities such as Vanessa Williams, Beyonce, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Oprah to Kate Winslet; just to name a few. His evening gowns are adored by many women because of the intricate beading & embellishments on each one of his creations that makes anyone who wore it looks & feels like a million bucks!

As we’ve seen so far from most of the fashion shows from this week’s New York Fashion Week, many designers has taking inspirations from the golden area of fashion; the 40s & 50s for their Fall/Winter 2011 collection & at Carmen’s show, we see many of those looks, too! But in a modern fresh takes! Delicate lace hemlines & hand appliqué lace embellishment motifs, calf-length silhouettes, couture draping details to show off the curves, all decorated with thousands of sparking beads & sequins. The luxurious fox fur wraps & mink-lined bomber jacket caress down on the shoulder, all illuminates the Marlene Dietrich glamorous feel to it.

Grammy 2011 Red Carpet Fashion Review

The Grammys Award was just on tonight February 13th 2011 and what a night it was! And of course all the fashionistas all over the world are glue in front of the TV to watch the red carpet fashion of their favorite stars. Not like the red carpet from the Oscars , the Avant-garde, weirdness rules the red carpet on the Music Awards. But surprisingly, this year’s Grammy award, you see many fabulous Oscar worthy glamour couture gowns parades down the red carpet.

First, we were surprised Lady Gaga arrives in an egg shaped vessel then when she is ready to perform on the stage, she stepped out the egg! I love her new song “ Born This Way “ !

The show is full of beautiful tailored jackets and pants, a hint of the famous 50’s era “Dior New Look” with exaggerated peplum waist detail suits & beautiful fur detailed jackets / coats with a different twist – instead of the usual all over fur coat, which usually makes you look fat or like a big gorilla, Peter masterfully shift the proportion a little by just having the fur around the back and sleeves; it makes it a totally modern fur coats / jackets that every cool girl would want to wear & not looking like they borrow from their mother’s closet.

How romantic is that?! so we've found a easy step by step tutorial by the Lose Angeles based designer Justina Blakeney to show us how.

Step 1: You will need 4 screw hooks or S hooks if your ceiling has something you can hang the canopy. 1 spool of twine, and a long stick. Secure the stick & hang from the ceiling, then Find some beautiful sheets, sarongs or large piece of fabric, in any theme you like to go after, maybe you like the "English Victorian Garden" feel, or Asian Imperial City flair or like in the photo here we are going for the "Bohemian Moroccan" kind look. Drape over the fabrics of your choice and use some safety pins to lift up the front opening as shown in the photo below.

Step 2: Making heart shaped garland by Using the news paper to cut out various sizes of heart shapes or you can buy those heart shaped cake decoration paper, and string through with twine.

When it comes to Haute Couture, it means made to order clothing that only the best fabric, craftsmanship & embellishments are used to create these one of the kind garments that only the best designer houses can mastered! and since money is no object to create these garments, designers usually use massive amount of fabrics plus heavy beadings & embroideries on couture dresses. But at CHANEL Spring 2011 show, we've seen the "Light" !

This collection is so luminous in its delicacy & sparkle, every pieces looks like a spring garden fairy outfit! But don't let the meaning of "Light" fools you & think they all must be just simple chiffon or cotton garments without the extravagance of Couture touches! 10 million beads & sequins were used in this collection! (Clutch my pearls! I just LOVE sparkles!) The opening first couple looks has this "Morning dew on spider webs" kind of delicate bead works on the shoulder, side of the dress.... it was just heavenly! Also all the models were wearing ballet flat shoes, with the chiffon flowing & big airy skirts, it almost has a ballerina feels throughout the collection. At the end of the show, when the curtain on the end of the runway lift up, all the models were standing on top of the stpes of a simulacrum of the iconic Rue Cambon Salon, just like how Madame CHANEL presented her show back in the days. It was a beautiful show, I love it!

Couture fantasy fashion & Sci-Fi movies are two of my passion in life, and when I saw Armani Privé Spring 2011 Collection, I love it immediately! I’ve heard some other fashion editors all not happy about what they saw from this show & said “ Oh! It’s too Lady Gaga! And it totally doesn’t even look like the usual Armani style… blah blah blah”. For me, I think it’s fabulous for a designers who are as well known & famous as Giorgio Armani to take a chance and be inspired by whatever that inspired him & create something utterly fabulous that is so not the “usual” Minimalistic, quiet elegance & muted neutral color Armani style, It takes courage & a great vision to make that leap! And for that, I give him a big applause!

For me, the whole show has the hit movie “Tron Legacy” futuristic feel to it! The unexpected combination of intricate beading mixing with the high-tech slick silk nylon type of fabrics in neon colors, the structured cuts & shapes of each garment is just screams Couture ! This collection transports us into the future and offers us a glimpse of the Future Couture.

The Rebirth Of The New Alexander McQueen Spring Summer 2011 Collection

All I can say is Bravo, Sarah Burton! After the tragic death of the super talented (and my favorite designer) Alexander McQueen, everyone is wondering what is going to happen to this legendary fashion power house, who shocked and awed us season after season of McQueen’s sometimes dark & gothic glamorous creations. Sarah Burton has worked beside McQueen for over 15 years and in her first major fashion after taken over the house of McQueen, she has successfully pay a homage to the signature McQueen looks & tradition and a sense of herself.

As we all remembered that McQueen is famous for his beautiful sharp, structured cuts in his garments, from shoulders, to the hemlines, it is glamorous with a masculine undertone, but with Sarah Burton’s debut collection, I feel that maybe because of her gender as a woman, it has played a big role on this new collection. Start from the very beginning of the show, you can see the usually sharp and arch upwards shoulder line on the signature McQueen tailored jackets, the shoulder line has been slashed open, so it drapes down a little also the ruffled details on the lapel and hem are cut in raw edges, it totally soften the McQueen signature structured look and adds a bit more femininity touch to it.

Also as most of Alexander McQueen’s inspirations are often dark, almost a little uncomfortable feeling to it, but she adds her own twist, maybe I say a more “positive” energy in her inspiration …. A pagan, earth-mother spirit, flower child feel to this new collection which you can see from various of floral or leaf pattern laser cut out leather pants & dresses, white cotton canvas tailor jackets & pants with raw edges, raffia-trimmed brocade, butterflies motifs, feathers to the basket weaves hair detail….. all gives a feeling a loving mother-earth, rebirth kind of positive feeling to it. I just LOVE this new collection!

Nicolas Ghesquière has done it again with a beautiful collection for Balenciaga Spring Summer 2011. For this collection, they stated a street casting tour from London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, Belgium and Australia and after looking through thousands of girls, they eventually picked 7 girls who is totally unknown to the fashion world and Nicolas Ghesquiere called them “Characters”. But then have all the top models such as Gisele Bündchen, Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta, Stella Tennant to close the show. The reason for them doing a 6 countries model casting tour is because “I was sick of the clone-model thing," the designer offered as explanation, adding: "It's about individuality." Wow! What a glamorous night it was! On August 29th it was the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards! All of our favorite celebrities from our favorite shows were all parading down on the red carpets, wearing the fabulous couture dress & expensive jewels..... I just can't pick which dress is my favorite!

These ads will direct readers to a specially designed 3D page on the A|X "Life" section of the brands website, where users will be able to view an exclusive 2D and 3D music video based around the A|X Fall 2010 advertising campaign on A|X:TV.

The ad was shot over three days on location on a soundstage in Brooklyn, NY, the campaign's set was constructed to create the stylistic futuristic underworld of "2020 Speed Style." The whole setting is lit by dramatic light shadow the darkness to provide a mysterious futuristic backdrop to cutting-edge street chic styling and accentuate the provocative energy and intense mood of intoxicating danger. The campaign also features a Ducati 1198S Motorbike as a prominent character, adding an erotic and surreal visual aesthetic to the cinematic-style images.

The super stylish celebrity stylist and reality star Rachel Zoe always dressing her Hollywood star clients in famous designers like Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors to Vera Wang. With her very own unique style, her looks has been copied and emulated by many fashionistas.

In the September 2010 issue of Harper's Bazaar, Rachel Zoe is in a stunning spread that features her with some seriously sought-after American designers. Harper's Bazaar cleverly using the common use phrase that Rachel always use whenever she saw something super fabulous "I Die! " and Fusing fashion and fantasy, images depict what would actually happen if the stylist to the stars really did "die" for fashion with the designers themselves going in for the kill!
