This is like the day time soap opera meets the Melrose Place kinda drama happened last week during the Paris fall winter 2010 fashion week.  Tthe French fashion house Balenciaga banned French Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld & her team from their show! This is a shocking news! Many designer dreamed of having those influential Vogue editors to grace the front row at their fashion shows and Balenciaga says no to them?! Everyone in the fashion industry were all wondered the cause of this fued.

At the Nina Ricci show, Carine Roitfeld told WWD: “We’re blacklisted, It’s too bad! it’s a beautiful house and it’s French. I hope that it’s not forever.” She noted Balenciaga no longer advertises in the magazine or lends it clothes, but stopped short of giving any reason for the rift. “Ask them,” she offered. A Balenciaga spokesman declined comment.  For those who doesn't know who Carnie Roitfeld is, click on the media player below to see a little documentary about her.

It's no secret that the House of Balenciaga, which is owned by Gucci Group/PPR, is super conservative when it comes to their show but to blacklist Carine Roitfeld (who wore Balenciaga to many events) and her Vogue Paris team means something serious happened behind closed doors.

Designer of the house of Balenciaga : Nicolas Ghesquiere

Meanwhile, Balenciaga has received mixed reviews on their runway show and has critics divided on the fall collection, which mixed industrial items such as paper and plastic with more luxurious fabrics. Geomatric collages of stiff yet rounded and contrast the matte and shine then the “recycle” theme of newspaper, plastic bags looking fabric and made it into a blouses is the main theme of the show.

Then the shoes! Block-heeled loafers and brogues with the soles encased in chunks of plastic. I personally think it’s fabulous and would totally rock those shoes when I go out, but to some, it might be a little too much.

The designer of Balenciaga Nicolas Ghesquière has totally push the house of Balenciaga to a new direction, some questions about how they will translate to a wearable version when they arrive to the stores, but since everything has already been done in the history of fashion, we desperately needs experimenting talents like Nicolas to push things forward and he did that with extraordinary skills in his March 4th 2010 show at Paris.

So what’s your thoughts about the Paris Vogue editor in chief Carine Roitfeld being banned from his show? And anyone know why? If you knows any inside details please come back and share with us!

Until next time, be well and look fabulous!

XOXO

Anna Wintour's New Pick of Hot Young Designer - Christopher Kane

If you are into fashions, then you must know who Anna Wintour is. The Godfather of fashion, Queen of the fashion magazine VOGUE as the editor in chief.

If she likes you, then you'll sure be the darling of the fashion world! As we have seen she had helped many of the young designers now has became a household name such as Peter Som, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon are among the lucky few who was on Ms. Wintour's "Favorite Designer" list. It's like she if she points that "fashion magic wand" at you the you transformed into this "It" designer that everyone loves. And now, she has a new pick, British designer Christopher Kane. Wintour is trying to help him to become a household name!

In his most recent Fall-Winter 2010 collection, he offers up a little tough and little sweet looks with embroidered flowers in rainbows of colors on top of leather shorts, dresses and even lace-up boots

Kane balanced angular, sharp-shouldered blouses and bodice with fluid skirt and loose-fitting leather shorts. I like he balanced the hard details with soft shearling. Towards the end of the show, he added crystal detailings to his nipped-in dresses. Even tho it's full of flower embroideries but you can almost feel a "Dark Side" of these dresses, maybe a little bondage, underground clubs inspired? Maybe you can find some of these outfits for your next party at your local biker bars! wink

Untill next time, be well and look fabulous!

XOXO
